1.Read Matthew 5:7-9. How do these three beatitudes reveal our attitude towards others? 

2.Talk about forgiveness for a moment, as forgiveness closely ties with mercy. Do you struggle to forgive why or why not? How has God helped you to forgive in a really hard situation? 

3.What did Jesus mean when He said blessed are the merciful? How has God been merciful to us? Read Matthew 18:21-35. How does this parable speak to the idea of us being merciful? What is the blessing for being merciful?  

4.What did Jesus mean when He said blessed are the pure in heart? See Psalm 24:3-6. What did you learn from this passage?  

5.What did Jesus mean when He said blessed are the peacemakers? Read Romans 12:17-18, why did Matt say peacemaking is not appeasement? How do we handle situations where one party refuses to have peace and denies truth?  

6. What from this week’s message challenged or blessed you the most?
