God was Calling Me into the Unknown

It all began for me in 2011 when I heard Holy Spirit say, “will you follow?” God was calling me into the unknown on a mission trip in Asia. My faith collided with my fear.

The Christian life is a not a life absent of fear. Imagine living a utopian life absent of the hard stuff. We would not need God in this scenario. Yet many Christians live life in fear of the hard stuff. How sad.

James 1:2-3 says, “:Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

The hard stuff in life reminds us of our need for God and it often comes when we step into our God given destiny. This is when we must answer the question, “is he worth it.”

I submit to you that Jesus is worth every tear, every trial, and every heart ache that we will ever face. The truth is Satan wants to tell you that the pain is just too great. That the road is too long. That the trial is too hard.

Fear is often our reality but faith is our destiny. Sadly, well meaning people will be used by Satan to keep you from following where Jesu is leading.

Don’t listen to the noise and don’t give in to the fear.

Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is what faith is. The Spirit will lead us into our destiny and yes it may look scary. But our faith reminds us that God has got us and that we can trust Him.

The Bible says at least 365 times, “do not fear.”

I guess that is at least one for every day of the year. So, my twenty days are covered while I’m in Israel and Asia. Thank you for praying for me and remember it’s not just me going. We are going.

Blessings,

Pastor Matt
